Hey folks!

Chris here, your friendly neighborhood game release news giver.

So, we've got quite a few titles popping up for this week, starting on the 29th and working its way through to the 3rd April. Of course, with the launch of the Oculus Rift we've already got a fairly impressive list, so maybe I'll stick a few pictures in to break it up.

Without further ado:

Crikey, that is a long list of games. It's worth noting whilst you've read down this far, that not all of these titles will set you back full retail price, infact, a lot of them will probably be hovering around the £10-15 mark, with some games coming in at full retail price. Well, I think that's earned you a picture, so here's one from Lucky's Tale.

Lucky's Tale

Doesn't that look nice?

Anyway, onwards to the 29th!

Alright, that's your lot, 30 games on the Oculus will be enough to keep anyone buying into that busy, and if you are, leave us a comment, we'd love to talk to you about it and your experiences.
For the rest of us without the Oculus Rift, there's a good 16 titles across various platforms for us to get stuck into, so have at it! Let us know what you're buying, and how you're finding it!

Thanks for reading!
Chris.

The Gaming Frontier - Introduction

Hello everyone, and welcome to The Gaming Frontier Blog.

If you're here reading this, then thank you for supporting us, it really does mean a lot and we hope to have your support going forward as we keep delivering these videos and maybe branching off into more content...but, I get ahead of myself.

So really, I'm writing this just to let you guys know a little bit about why the channel came to be, what our plans are for now, and what we're hoping to branch into. Just so you guys know what you can expect fed around with from us.

So the concept for The Gaming Frontier came about on the 12th February as a result of one fateful text on an otherwise boring night. Youtube has always been something myself and Jason have toyed around with, but we've never really known what to do with it, or about it, so, as a result of some minor frustration at missing major game releases in February, the concept of The Gaming Frontier was born.

If you've already watched our videos, you'll know that the general idea of it is to provide everyone out there an easily accessible and digestible format for game releases coming out in a given week. As of writing this post, we have 1 video out detailing the first week of March.
Now, we figured it would be a little bit boring just rambling through the weeks releases, so we went a little bit further and had some "Top Picks" for the week, in which I pick a game, and Jason picks one that we both like the look of, and we have a bit of back and forth. It's fun for us, and, well, we hope it's fun for you guys too.
As a little addition, Jason also wanted to do some Import Picks, just in case there is a title out in Japan that people may want their hands on due to it not being available here. There's been a few in the past (Demons Souls anyone if you're from the UK) so it's nice to have a little something for maybe some of the more niche gamers out there.

Now for the fun stuff. Future plans. So far, we've only really planned out the weekly release video, and this will be going up on either the Sunday or the Monday so you guys can get that watched and see if you like the look of anything coming out.
Going forward, we're looking to nail that down so that we have it operating smoothly, and consistently. After we've got that locked down, we are going to look into expanding the channel a little bit further. Some ideas we've thrown around include:

  • Previews
  • First Impressions
  • Reviews
  • Let's Play's
  • Live-Streaming
  • Game Highlights
It's a pretty nice list, and it gives us a lot of option to explore different content and games, provided we can get our hands on them.

So that's that. Hope that answers any questions or queries anyone would have. This blog will mostly just be updated with the weeks releases until we get sorted out, then I may look into writing more articles, based on the games of the week, or maybe some of the challenges we've faced when recording The Gaming Frontier.

Thanks for sticking with this, it's been a long one, but I feel it's important this gets out, especially as we're such a young channel. Carry on liking and favouriting us if you will, and let's grow into something great together.

Keep on Gaming!
Chris.
